A Call to Mission - Home and Abroad
This site is a result of the Call to Mission Conference held at Towerview Free Methodist Church from 28-29th August 2010 with Heidi and Rolland Baker and Carol Herron
Here you will find testimonies of how the Holy Spirit impacted those who attended to reach a lost, sick and dying world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ at home and abroad.
Contributors are mainly those who attended the conference and is by invitation only.
The key verses from the Bible for the conference were from Matthew 17:1-5 (Amplified Bible)
(1) And six days after this, Jesus took with Him Peter and James and John his brother, and led them up on a high mountain by themselves.
(2) And His appearance underwent a change in their presence; and His face shone clear and bright like the sun, and His clothing became as white as light.
(3) And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah, who kept talking with Him.
(4) Then Peter began to speak and said to Jesus, Lord, it is good and delightful that we are here; if You approve, I will put up three booths here--one for You and one for Moses and one for Elijah.
(5) While he was still speaking, behold, a shining cloud [composed of light] overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, This is My Son, My Beloved, with Whom I am [and have always been] delighted. Listen to Him! [Ps. 2:7; Isa. 42:1.]
Somes times in the midst of the glory of the presence of God we get side tracked into an overwheming sense of awe as Peter did here. We can so easily get caught up with the wonder of His presence that we too need 'interupted' just as God interupted Peter in verse 5 - 'while he was still speaking...'' - to remind us of the true purpose of the glory - to acknowledge Jesus for who he is and 'Listen to Him!'
